Local residents raised concerns about a small area near Tesco Express, on Rossmore Road West being used for anti-social behaviour (ASB). Tesco staff also reported that shoplifters were using this concealed area to decant stolen goods before leaving the location.

Worked in partnership with Cheshire West and Chester Council to arrange for the overgrown shrubbery to be cut back by the CWAC Street Scene Team. This opened up the space and increased natural visibility for passing pedestrians, staff and customers.
Continued working with partner agencies and local volunteers to carry out regular litter picks, helping to prevent the ‘broken window’ effect - where visible signs of neglect can encourage further antisocial behaviour - and reducing the likelihood of the area becoming an ASB hotspot again.
This area remains on local policing plans and we will continue to gather intelligence and work with partners, Tesco and the community top keep the space safe, clean and unattractive for ASB or criminal activity.
