Residents, businesses and bus users told us they were concerned about anti-social behaviour at the bus station. Reports included disorderly behaviour, intimidation, and groups gathering in the area, causing concern for those using the facilities and nearby businesses.
Issued 23 October 2026
We have responded robustly to reports of anti-social behaviour and have taken action against those responsible. Identified offenders have been dealt with appropriately and brought in, alongside their parents or guardians, for behaviour discussions to address their actions and prevent further incidents.
A Dispersal Order is currently in place covering the area, giving officers additional powers to direct individuals away from the location where anti-social behaviour is occurring. We are also working closely with the bus company, landowners, local shops and the council to develop a coordinated approach to reducing anti-social behaviour and improving safety at the bus station. Through joint working, increased awareness, and targeted enforcement, we are committed to making the area a safer and more welcoming place for everyone.
