The local Beat Manager identified through incidents reported, and Residents Voice that there was a concern relating to ASB in the area, particularly around DOWARD street and town centre.

Through an increase in patrolling and CCTV trawls local officers were able to link in with High Schools and identify those responsible. The Youth Engagement Officer has gone on to hold ASB discussions with those involved with parents present and placed them on the ASB pathway which will initially focus on diversion away from this behaviour, rather than punishment. Should it continue, this discussion can be progressed on to ASB contracts where we would seek to bring partner agencies on board such as Youth Justice Services, further involvement with Halton Borough Council, and even housing affecting tenancy agreements if applicable. A total of 51 interventions have taken place year to date for Widnes LPU as a whole.
