Throughout the recruitment process we will send you a number of emails via our Oleeo recruitment system – please ensure you check your junk/spam folders on a regular basis and add [email protected] to your address book to guarantee you do not miss anything.
You can apply to us as a Police or Detective Constable on one of our entry programmes. While both roles are similar, detectives have different duties and receive extra training and additional exams.
1. Police Constable Entry Programme: You'll have a critical front-line role in the prevention and detection of crime and the criminal justice system. You will work in partnership on a day-to-day basis with local communities, stakeholders and colleagues to promote law and order, reduce the fear of crime, provide reassurance, and build confidence to improve the quality of life for citizens.
2. Detective Constable Entry Programme: you'll play a critical role in discovering the truth behind a crime. Gathering, verifying and assessing all appropriate and available information to gain an accurate understanding of situations.
When deciding to join, think about whether you want to start as a Police Constable or join the Detective Constable. If you start on the Detective programme and later want to switch to a Police Constable, you'll need to formally apply to change roles. If you are still in the application stage and wish to change paths, you will need to reapply and start over.
